Using Google Cloud for running a minecraft server.

A friend and I have used Google's Cloud system to run and manage a between friend server. Here is what I learned from using it.

1. Running a constant server so any friend can join whenever will cost a minimum of $2/Month. Using modded minecraft can add up to another $1.

2. The console for the server is a bit odd to get to. You have to

sudo -s
screen -r

which then you get into the server console but the setup is way more than just this, this is all the commands you'll run for your server ever again.

3. You can't even use the console to add/change worlds. You need seperate software to get into the server and add them. Then you need to do extra things to make it work right. As for what we know it's the best way.

But don't let this stop you from running your own server. Google Cloud (as of now) give a free 300 dollar credit for all new users. which if done right could last for a good while. We are having a great time with it. just find an old visa  giftcard and you are set.

Im back and probably ready for action.

Hello! As you might have noticed I havent posted for quite a bit. I have drafts that I never got around to but thats not the point. I should probably just say that. Im not going to make this a common thing for me to post. I hope I still post good reads and nothing too annoying bye.
